Through scheduled programming and community participation the well-being of one's self is enhanced. Residents of this community will live and support a substance free lifestyle.
We are very excited to see what programs will result from the collaboration of students and staff in this new community. Examples of programs that could result from this community are weekly yoga classes, healthy cooking classes, meditation groups, hiking trips, and mental health seminars.
Requirements
Students who participate in the Health & Wellness special interest community will need to commit to the following:
- Each apartment must actively participate in the planning of 1 or more event(s) of their choosing centered around the values of the Health & Wellness community.
- Each student must attend a minimum of 3 Health & Wellness community programs per semester.
- Each student must lead a substance free lifestyle and commit to the standards of the community contract.
To be considered for the program, please complete the housing application online in conjunction with completing the Peforming Arts application found at the front desk in the Commons, Meyerhoff and Gateway buildings or by downloading the application from our webpage. Our review committee will hand select the students we believe will gain the most from the experience as well as offer new perspectives to the program. We encourage anyone that is willing to actively participate, take ownership of the community and be a good ambassador to the program to apply.
Applications are due the Friday before spring break at 5pm. Please return completed applications to the MICA Residence Life Office in Commons 2-108.
