Organizations who wish to partner with CAP should fill out a "Request for Partnership" form. Upon receiving your completed "Request for Partnership" form, a CAP office staff member will contact you to discuss your proposal. Note that CAP operates according to MICA's academic calendar, and new partnerships will not be considered until the start of the new semester. Prospective partners are expected to provide: an orientation to their site, specialized traning (if required), supervision by credentialled employees (e.g., teachers, social workers, art therapists), and a safe working environment.
Organizations who wish to request volunteers for a one-time event should complete a "Request for Volunteers" form. Upon receiving your completed "Request for Volunteers" form, we will post your opportunity to the CAP blog. CAP interns will contact you directly if they are able to assist with your event.
To receive either form, please email cap@mica.edu.
Note that CAP cannot guarantee placement of volunteers or interns with any site. Please also note CAP does not partner with individuals, individual families, or for-profit institutions nor does CAP partner with groups outside Baltimore City. Sites outside of Bolton Hill who wish to work with CAP are expected to provide transportation to their site or to reimburse the CAP office for expenses related to travel to their site. Our interns rely on buses, the light rail system, and taxis to travel outside Bolton Hill.
The CAP Office is just one of many offices at MICA supporting community initiatives. You may also wish to consider contacting the Office of Community Engagement to discuss the possibility of establishing a partnership with MICA.
