On day 72 of a backpacking excursion through the Himalayan Mountains in India, Emma Fineman '13 (painting) and 13 other students stumbled upon the skull of a water buffalo. "This beautiful and massive skull rested so effortlessly amongst the thickly forested brush, its white surface glowing against the vibrant green surrounding it," Fineman recalled. "It was an unforgettable sight that perfectly represents the beauty of life and death and the incredible cycles that must occur for nature's very existence."
