Former MICA President Hans Schuler and former Rinehart School of Sculpture Director J. Maxwell Miller collaborated on models for the four stone reliefs set into the façade of Green Mount's mausoleum. The two modeled their subjects after Athenian classical tomb markers and depict the departed stoically bidding farewell to grieving loved ones.

More about Green Mount Cemetery
Baltimore's Green Mount Cemetery is famous for the historical figures interred within its walls -- Betsy Patterson Bonaparte. John Wilkes Booth. Allen Dulles. Yet the site, which is one of the earliest "garden" cemeteries in the United States, is also home to a noteworthy range of public art -- 19th- and early 20th-century sculpture with significant ties to MICA.
