Hotel Accommodations
We have reserved a block of 20 rooms at the Sheraton Suites Galleria, 2844 Cobb Parkway S.E., Atlanta, GA 30339, which is across the street from the Cobb Galleria Centre. The rooms are reserved at a reduced rate of $105 per night and will be available for Thursday, November 17 through Sunday, November 20. Online registration customized for this event will be available shortly; we will provide the link to this webpage in the official confirmation/receipt of payment email late September 2011.
Shipping Materials to the Event
The Atlanta National Portfolio Day is an off-site event. MICA cannot be held responsible for lost boxes of materials. You will be responsible for transporting your materials yourself or shipping/handling your boxes. If you choose to ship your boxes directly to the Portfolio Day venue (The Cobb Galleria Centre), print the shipping form in the left hand navigation bar on this page and follow the instructions carefully. If you have any questions, please contact The Cobb Galleria Centre at by phone (770) 989-5092 ;Fax (770) 955-7719; or email shipping@cobbgalleria.com. The venue has limited storage space and is very strict about shipping protocol: Your boxes must arrive no earlier than two days before the event. In past years, we have found that it is helpful if all boxes are labeled with your school's name and "2011 Atlanta National Portfolio Day". On the morning of the event a Cobb Galleria representative will come to your table to arrange for payment for shipping/handling (please have an authorized credit card handy).
Computers at the Portfolio Day Venue
According to NPDA Guidelines, computers may only be used to view digital student portfolios (not for any promotional school materials). There is limited access to electrical outlets in the Portfolio Day room. Please note that for a fee, your school may request a "power kit". Please contact the Cobb-Galleria at services@cobbgalleria.com for more information.
NPDA Representative Guidelines
Each reviewer at a National Portfolio Day event must initial, fill out and sign a copy of the Representative Guidelines. A separate form must be completed for each event attended. If you would like to print it out in advance, the form is available as a PDF on this page, in the left hand navigation bar. Forms will also be available in hard copy at the event.
To Register for the Atlanta National Portfolio Day
Click on the registration link in the left hand navigation bar on this page. Fill out and submit the online registration form. The registration fee for this event is $250.00. You will be prompted to either pay online by credit card (we accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express) or to mail a check payable to the order of Maryland Institute College of Art for that amount (the mailing address is available on the registration form).
You will receive an initial instant confirmation upon completing the online registration process.
An official confirmation/receipt of payment will be emailed to you in late September 2011.
Your check must be postmarked by on or before August 25, 2011 in order for your school's name to be included on the event poster. Registration forms and/or payments received after the August 25 deadline are subject to review.
