The amount of any Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan listed on your Award Letter is the maximum amount you are eligible to borrow. You may borrow any amount up to this maximum.
If you borrowed a federal Stafford Loan at MICA during the previous academic year, you do not need to complete another federal Stafford loan application. Your signed Award Letter accepting your Stafford Loan(s) gives the Financial Staff permission to process your loan(s).
Step 1. Go to the federal government's Direct Lending website and sign in with your FAFSA pin. https://studentloans.gov
Step 2. If you previously borrowed a federal Stafford loan at MICA. proceed to Step 3 below. If not, complete an Entrance Counseling located on the left sidebar under Counseling on the Direct Lending website
Step 3. To process your loan, complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) also located on the left sidebar of the Direct Lending website.
You have the right to cancel or reduce the amount of your awarded loan by contacting the Financial Aid Office.
