More than 35,000 feet of fiber optic cable serve as the foundation of the college's network infrastructure. The connections between almost all buildings (residential, classrooms, and administrative) consist of fiber optics links.
The school's internet feed is 1Gbps (1000mbps). About seventy percent of our bandwidth is dedicated to the college's residence halls and the remainder supports academic and administrative facilities.
In addition to ethernet, MICA has a secure wireless network that covers the entire campus. This technology allows students, staff and faculty to access the web without the limitations of a wired connection. Users can connect with a laptop or a mobile device that has a standard wireless adapter. The wireless coverage is very thorough within the campus buildings and even on remote sites.
