Students living in all the dormitories - the Commons, Meyerhoff House, Gateway, Sutton Place, and Mt. Royal apartments have high-speed internet access included in the cost of housing. Your computer needs to have an ethernet or wireless adapter installed in order to access the network. You will also need an ethernet cable to connect your computer to the wall jack in your room. Technology Systems and Services will provide information and assistance to all incoming students living in campus housing to ensure that they can connect to the network. All public, administrative, and classroom computers on campus are also connected to the network for internet access.
To connect to the internet in any of the dormitories or School owned/rented apartments, configure your network connection to use DHCP, which will automatically assign an IP address to your machine so that you can access the internet. Most computers are already configured as DHCP and we do not recommend making any changes. Students should call the help desk if their computer has any problems accessing the Internet.
In addition, MICA has an extensive wireless network that covers most of the campus. Here is a list of covered areas of MICA's buildings.
