All requests for purchases of and upgrades to office computers should be coordinated through the Vice-President or Department Head in your area. Once the request is approved, an email should be sent by the supervisor to the Help Desk.
Personal Computers - Macintosh
The Office of Technology Services no longer provides services for purchasing MacIntosh computers. Apple does, however, give educational discounts to members of the MICA community. To find the best deals on MacIntosh and related Apple hardware and software, please visit the Apple Education Store (see link on sidebar) or visit the Apple Store in Towsontown Center.
Personal Computers - Windows
MICA does not have access to discounts or other special deals for purchasing PCs. However, we strongly recommend that you buy a name brand such as Gateway or Dell. The prices for those systems are slightly higher than other brands, but the quality and service are superior. If you need help in configuring a system for personal use, please contact the Help Desk.
