In 2007 MICA began implementing academic analytics across our administrative systems enterprise. EDUCAUSE describes academic analytics this way:

"In responding to internal and external pressures for accountability in higher education, especially in the areas of improved learning outcomes and student success, IT leaders may soon become critical partners with academic and student affairs. IT can contribute to this call for accountability through academic analytics, which is emerging as a new tool for a new era."

We partnered with iStrategy Solutions to implement and develop an analytic suite that extracts and transforms data from our core administrative systems into an interactive reporting environment.

Specifics

We are running iStrategy Higher Education Analytics version 3.0, MS SQL Server 2005, and the ProClarity Analytics suite. Authorized users can access our analytics environment here and watch a tutorial here.
