Digital Print Studio

The Digital Print Studio is open to all faculty, staff, and students. Prices are reasonable and there are student workers and technicians to help you with your project. Contact the Digital Print Studio at 410-462-7597.

The Digital Print Studio is located in the Art>>Tech Center next to the College Store. The studio provides wide-format, pigment-based archival quality printing services on a number of state-of-the-art printers. In addition, there are laser cutters, a 3D printer, a computer-controlled film and stencil cutter as well as an ultra-wide format textile printer. Prices in the Center are well below commercial digital printing prices. Below is a list of the various printers and systems available to students and faculty.

Xerox Tektronix 7760 Color Laser printer
Maximum paper size 12x18”

Epson 3800 Printers
These can print on a number of different materials including matte, gloss, transparencies, velvet fine art paper and watercolor paper. These printers use archival K3 inks to ensure fade resistant and long lasting prints. The maximum width is 17"

Epson 4880 Printer
The 4880 uses Epson Ultrachrome inks and prints up to 17"x22". The quality of the prints from the printer are outstanding.

Epson 7800 Printer
This printer can print on a varied selection of paper types. Traditional printmaking papers such as Rives BFK are excellent choices for this printer. This Epson uses archival inks and prints at 2880 dots per inch. Prints can be 24” wide by almost unlimited length.

Epson 9800 Printer

This printer can print on a varied selection of paper types. It uses archival K3 inks and prints at 2880 dots per inch. The printing area can be 44” wide by almost unlimited length.

Roland GX-300
vinyl cutter for signs, vehicle graphics, art displays, etc. It cuts up to 29" width.

Z-Corp 3D Printer
Using a plaster material, this revolutionary printer transforms 3D image files from programs such as 3D Studio Max or Solidworks into three-dimensional works of art. The printer can print objects up to roughly 8” x 10” x 8”.

Mercury Laser Cutter
The laser cutter is able to cut, engrave or burn a pattern onto many different types of materials including cloth, wood, plastic or soft metals. The maximum surface area is about 25"x19”. The laser cutter is most effective in engraving onto materials, cutting thinner, softer materials, or incising patterns / drawings onto materials.

Accuris Laser Cutter
This laser cutter has the same characteristics as the Mercury but has a variable power laser beam which enabales it to cut deeper and more quickly.

 

 

Other
The studio also houses a super-wide 63" format textile printer owned by the Fibers department.
