MICA Contributes to Groundbreaking Research in 3D Tissue Printing at AMRI - 9/4/13
Digital Fabrication Studio Technician, Anderson Ta spent the month of August at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Institute, a pioneering project launched by Professor Jordan Miller at his lab at Rice University's BioScience Research Collaborative. Andy was one of four fellows in a unique partnership between scientists and members of the Maker community working together to develop new low-cost approaches to bio-printing. The goal of this work it to forward the development of tissue engineering with the ulitmate goal of 3D printing new organs. Read more in the article at rice.edu.

MICA Students Exhibit Work at FabLabDC - 6/20/13
Architecture and Sculpture students from Ryan Hoover's Digital Fabrication courses mounted an impressive exhibition of work at FabLabDC. The exhibition, entitled "THIRDwave," demonstrated a wide range of approaches to this technology and actively engaged the public about the possibilities of these new modes of making.
