Pursuing a Graduate Education

Approximately 26 percent of MICA BFA graduates pursue graduate study immediately after graduation. Graduate study is essential if you are thinking about teaching at the college and university level, or if you would like to deepen your artistic exploration and the development of your work.

MICA graduates who decide to pursue graduate study often go directly to the nation's top programs in art and design--Yale, Columbia, UCLA, Pratt, Stanford University, Rhode Island School of Design, and NYU, among many others. In addition to pursuing MFA degrees in art, MICA graduates pursue master's and doctoral degrees in a wide array of fields--from museum studies to medicine and law.

Your education at MICA will prepare you to compete for some of our nation's most prestigious graduate programs. The Career Counselors at the Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development can assist you in selecting the right graduate program to meet your needs and guide you through the application process. The Career Resource Library is a valuable source of information for your search.
