Fred Lazarus IV, President

As MICA president for 35 years, Fred Lazarus IV H'14 has helped reinvent the role of art and design education in academia, society, and commerce. In the process, he has led the evolution of the College into one of the world’s foremost art colleges and helped transform Baltimore into a globally recognized center for creativity. He is a national leader in using academic institutions to energize communities, and has been recognized both for his work as an education innovator and for his success in creating cooperative models for economic development.
