Richard Mitchell is an applied anthropologist.
He worked exclusively with Native American Indians in the Western Plains states. He lived on the Potawatomi Indian reservation of NE Kansas and worked as their Tribal Planner. He was the Executive Director of the Mid-America All-Indian Center, Inc., while serving as Director of the Indian Center Museum, in Wichita.
He has taught Anthropology and Native American Studies for the past decade.
He is currently teaching Arts of Native Americans at MICA. He lives in Annapolis with his wife, Kathy, and dog, Bruce.
