Pamela Russell

Adjunct Faculty – Art History, Theory, & Criticism

Pamela Russell previously held positions at the Tampa Museum of Art (Curator of Classical Art), the Fitchburg Art Museum (Curator of Collections), and at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (Consultant in Ancient Art). She has organized numerous exhibitions including Making and Marketing Ancient Greek Pottery (Tampa) and Frontier Challenges (Fitchburg).

Dr. Russell taught art history and archaeology in the Boston area, including at Boston University and Wellesley College. Her current projects are publishing the Bronze Age pottery from recent British excavations at Maroni, Cyprus and preparing a biography of her great-uncle, sculptor Harry Thrasher, a student of Augustus Saint-Gaudens and 1911 Rome Prize recipient, who was killed in France during WWI.

Dr. Russell received a B.A. from Yale College and a Ph.D. in Classical Archaeology from the University of Pennsylvania.
