Michael Hindle

Adjunct Faculty – Foundation

Michael Hindle received his BS in Studio Art from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. He spent a year in France at the Lacoste School of the Fine Arts in Lacoste en Provence, and in Paris. He was awarded a fellowship to attend the Hope School of Fine Arts at Indiana University in Bloomington where he received his MFA in painting in 1997. Since then Michael has lived in Brooklyn, NY, Salem, MA , Cincinnati, OH, and Southern Maryland.

Before teaching at MICA Michael taught painting, drawing, figure drawing, anatomy, color theory, and various interdisciplinary studio courses at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA, the Art Academy of Cincinnati, The University of Cincinnati, in the Art Department and the School of Architecture and Interior Design of Miami University in Oxford, OH. Most recently Michael taught at St. Mary's College of Maryland. He currently teaches painting and drawing in the Foundations Department at MICA.

Michael has shown in Washington D.C., New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Indiana. He is represented by Nahcotta Gallery in Portsmouth, NH. He was recently selected to participate in George Nick Selects, an exhibition of emerging painters curated by the painter George Nick at the Concord Art association in Concord, MA.
