Lynn Tomlinson

Lynn Tomlinson is an independent animator and interdisciplinary artist working across a broad rage of media, including stop-motion animation, sculpture, mosaic, documentary, site-specific installation and community arts. She has received many grants and fellowships, including individual artist fellowships from the states of Florida and Pennsylvania.Her award-winning animated films have been screened at numerous festivals including the Ottawa International Animation Festival in Canada, Anima Mundi in Brazil and Women Make Waves in Taiwan. Her clay-on-glass animated shorts have aired on children's public television, MTV and Sesame Street. Her community art projects include collaborative animation projects made with children; large-scale mosaic murals built of hand-made and recycled tiles, built with help from hundreds of students and community volunteers; and Boxed In, a project funded by the ArtFronts Partnership in Philadelphia, PA, and featured in Sculpture Magazine. Tomlinson has taught at the University of the Arts and Cornell University, and currently teaches animation at the MICA.
