Kirsten D'andrea Hollander

Adjunct Professor – Foundation & Video

Kirsten D'Andrea Hollander received a B.F.A in Painting from MICA in 1988 and an M.F.A. in Imaging and Digital Arts from UMBC in 1997. Kirsten teaches in the Video and Foundation departments at MICA. She is also currently developing the Yoga Drawing program at MICA, wherein students learn self care while engaging their studio arts. In addition, Kirsten also teaches in MICA's Pre-College Program and is helping to develop a study abroad program in Nicaragua.

Kirsten is the founder of Ocean Oak Studios, the umbrella to produce her independent films. Kirsten has had work seen on PBS, in film festivals around the U.S. and has enjoyed distribution in 18 countries. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a Peer Award, a Rosebud Award, and the Boulder Media Award. Kirsten has received grants from the Maryland State Arts Council, The Wright Family Foundation and the Kristin Rita Strouse Foundation.
