John Lewis

John Lewis is the arts & culture editor at Baltimore magazine, where he writes feature stories, music and book reviews, and the popular blog, "All the Pieces Matter." Using the magazine as a curated space, he's also developed unique editorial content such as the year-long "Divercity" series and "See Hear," a multi-media piece that combined visual art (including work by Grace Hartigan) with commissioned fiction (Madison Smartt Bell), poetry (Lucille Clifton), and music (Gary Thomas). He's profiled a wide range of interesting subjects, from John Waters and Howard Finster to the Wu-Tang Clan and Ira Glass, and his work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Spin, and many other publications. His profile of Ike Turner was included in The Oxford American Book of Great Music Writing. Since 1998, Lewis has written a monthly column for Vibrations, the French/Swiss music magazine.
