Faculty - Environmental Design
John Chow's professional experience has focused mainly on Art and Cultural Institutions. He has worked on many collaborative projects such as the New Museum of Contemporary Art in NYC with SANAA of Japan, The Clark Museum at Williamstown, MA with Tadao Ando Architect of Japan and he also worked on a corporate Dining and Servery facility in NYC with Office dA of Boston. As the Design Director, he designed the Sotheby's Tokyo Headquarters in Japan. He was a partner in a private practice in NYC prior to joining the studio of Diller Scofidio + Renfro as a Project Architect. His work has been published in Interior Design Magazine.
John is a graduate of Harvard's Graduate School of Design with a Master of Architecture and The Cooper Union with a Bachelors of Architecture. He also attended the Whitney Museum Independent Studies Studio Program focusing on Art History & Theory, Architecture, and Performance Arts.
A former Adjunct Professor at New York City College School of Architecture teaching 3rd Year Design Studio, and has also taught at the Boston Architectural Center and the Harvard GSD Career Discovery Program. He has been a visiting critic at Rhode Island School of Design, Carlton University, University of Massachusetts and NJ Institute of Technology.
