Fred Scharmen

Fred Scharmen earned his Masters Degree in Architecture at Yale University in 2006, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2001. Since finishing his Masters Degree, Fred has worked on projects for diverse practices. Fred has twice traveled to Asia while involved with large urban proposals. In 2006 Fred was in Singapore for Greg Lynn FORM, collaborating with Gehry Partners on a 2km long resort, casino, aquarium, and waterpark. In 2008 Fred traveled to Inner Mongolia on behalf of Keller Easterling Architects to present a house and small arts colony for the ORDOS100 masterplan.

Fred has worked locally with Baltimore architects Alexander Design Studio and Ziger/Snead. In addition to independent solo work, research and consulting in art, public art, interaction and design, Fred has taught design studio at the University of Maryland, College Park, Morgan State University, and MICA.
