Connie Imboden has shown her photographs in an extensive range of group and solo shows at galleries and museums in England, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, Spain, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and the Untied States. Her work is represented in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The National Museum of American Art, Washington D.C., and The Bibliotheque Nationale is Paris, France, and many other public and private collections in Europe and the Americas.

Her first book of images, Out of Darkness, won the Silver Medal in Switzerland's "Schonste Bucher Aus Aller Welt (Most Beautiful Book in the World)" Award in 1993. Her work has also been documented in catalogs accompanying solo shows at the Museo Alejandro Otero, Caracas, Venezuela, and the Galerie Municipale du Chateau d'Eau, Toulouse, France. Imboden's work has been featured in such periodicals as Aperture, Camera and Darkroom, FotoPractica, Photographies, Photo Metro, Photonews, Photo Review, ViewCamera, Vis A Vis, and Zoom Magazine.

Imboden currently teaches photography at the Maryland Institute, where her experience as a photographer began, and at the Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport. She has also served as an instructor at the International Center For Photography in New York City, the Center for Photography in Woodstock, Recontres Internationales de la Photographie, The College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Howard Community College, and The University of Delaware.
