Brian Taylor received his BFA from Utah State University and recently finished his MFA at the New York State School of Ceramics at Alfred University. He has been a resident artist and worked for several art centers including The Mendocino Art Center, Watershed Center for the Ceramic Art and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. Brian utilizes a broad range of making processes for his colorful functional pottery. By eluding to both the manufactured and handmade object, his work draws on contradictions in material culture about value and how things are made.
