Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, 2006
Mike Weikert is director of the MICA's Center for Design Practice and a graphic designer with a thriving professional practice; he runs Weikert Design, a graphic design studio, as well as Small Roar, a line of graphic baby shirts, with his wife Stephannie. He is also partner of Piece Studio, a socially focused design initiative. The previous co-chair of the College's graphic design department, Weikert was creative director at Atlanta-based Iconologic and served as a design consultant to the International Olympic Committee.
Weikert's work has been recognized in several design publications including; Communication Arts, GOOD, Graphis, How, Identity, Print, STEP and Type Director's Club and design books including; Design Alliance, D.I.Y. Design It Yourself, Graphic Design: The New Basics, Print's Best Invitation Design, Print's Best Logos & Symbols, The Nature of Design, The Olympic Image and White Graphics.
