100 block of W. Lanvale St.

The following security alert was sent out to the MICA community via email on 10/25/13:
At approximately 5:10 P.M. on Friday October 25, 2013, a MICA student was walking east in the 100 block of W. Lanvale Street when he was approached from the front and pushed against a wall by three males. After pushing and hitting the student, his cell phone was taken. The perpetrators fled the scene heading south on John Street towards Howard Street to an unknown direction.
The suspects are described as:
Suspect 1 a black male, 5'8" or 5"9", thin build - approximately 160 pounds, late teens to early 20's, little facial hair. He was wearing a grey knit wool cap, black puff coat, and dark colored jeans.
Suspect(s) 2 & 3 5'8" or 5"9", thin build - approximately 160 pounds, late teens to early 20's, wearing dark sweat shirts and jeans.
MICA Campus Safety responded quickly and continues to search for perpetrator with help from Baltimore City Police, but none of the suspects have been apprehended. Baltimore City Police have taken the lead in this investigation and Campus Safety will support their efforts.
Although it is very early in the investigation, Campus Safety is working with Baltimore City Police to enhance our area patrols. Officers will be deployed on foot in the W. Mount Royal Avenue Campus corridor.
We strongly encourage all members of the MICA community to always remain vigilant, on and off campus. Immediately contact Campus Safety if you see someone fitting this description or acting suspicious.
· See Something... Say Something - Immediately report suspicious persons parked, hanging around, or walking through campus or your neighborhood. Please help us prevent something suspicious from becoming a crime by being extra eyes and ears for Campus Safety and Baltimore City Police. Call in a "tip" and patrol units will respond to the area to investigate.
· On-Campus Walking Escorts are available. Officers will walk with you between campus buildings or to/from your car. Request service through a lobby security guard or call 410-225-2245.
· Always be alert to your immediate surroundings and keep track of who is around you. Be especially vigilant in the evening and on weekends when there is less pedestrian traffic in Bolton Hill and on campus.
