Admission

Graduate Admission: Apply

MICA enrolls a large graduate community. Applicants for approximately 150 places in the Division of Graduate Studies hail from 41 states and 34 foreign countries. 14% of MICA's graduate enrollment is comprised of international students. Admission is highly competitive. In selecting from among the many outstanding applicants we receive for a limited number of spaces, MICA's Graduate Admission Committee considers a number of factors. Most important, we seek students who are mature and highly self-motivated, who wish to develop a more disciplined focus, a deeper commitment, and a strongly realized personal vision in their work. Students are selected based on the quality of their portfolio, their academic and professional history, experience and involvement in the visual arts, and personal qualifications. Completion of an undergraduate degree or the equivalent is required for admission. Each of MICA's graduate programs will seek to create a unique community of artists with a specific dynamic and spirit.
